Pretty In Pastels (Happy Blossoms / Altenew)

by Kylie

Hi everyone! Last month, I shared some cards inspired by Mona Toth and her ink colour choices. They were gorgeous! I immediately went through my own ink collection and then shopped for the colours I was missing. It had to be done! I’ve already played with her bright palette (see here and here), but today I am sharing a card featuring the softer, more pastel colour palette she also shared.

For this card, I once again used Altenew’s Build-A-Garden: Happy Blossoms set. In fact, I CASEd (Copy And Share Everything) my original design, only switching up the ink colours and the sentiment. I stamped the main floral image a couple of times, then die-cut the images before colouring them with Distress Inks in Kitsch Flamingo, Squeezed Lemonade and Salvaged Patina for the petals. I used a combination of Mowed Lawn and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks for the leaves. I love these colour combinations so much. They are really pretty!

Once again, I created a background panel for the card using the Waffle Flower Happy Circles Texture die. I love the subtle texture it offers without detracting from the colourful flowers. The flowers were also popped up on the front using foam adhesive. I love this dimension!

The sentiment, from Altenew’s Build-A-Garden: Happy Blossoms set, was stamped with Versamark on black cardstock before being white heat-embossed. This set comes with coordinating dies, so I used these to cut out the sentiment before adhering it to my card base. Of course, I did add Wink of Stella to the petals.

Here’s the card…

These colours are gorgeous, and the card looks so much better in real life. I loved it so much I actually made a couple of cards while I had the inks out. I love this!

Hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks so much for stopping by!
