Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing a sweet friendship card featuring the super cute mice from Lawn Fawn‘s Mice Flowers stamp set. I thought they were so cute and couldn’t wait to use them. As is always the way, I had so much fun putting this scene together. I love colouring the Lawn Fawn critters, plus I added a few more images from the Gleeful Gardens and Hay There stamp sets (also from Lawn Fawn) to really round out my design.
I had stamped, coloured, die-cut (or fussy-cut) all the pieces for the card and had started to assemble everything. I decided to stamp the bee trails directly onto the card front, and this is where everything went wrong. The card almost ended up in the bin…
When Things Go Wrong
Okay, that might be a bit dramatic, but my breath did catch, and I did have a moment of “Nooooooooooooo!”. You see, I think I somehow got my finger in the ink and transferred this ink to my card in a couple of places. Thankfully, I was able to rescue the card. One of the ink marks was easily hidden underneath one of the mice, and for the other, I ended up adding a few pearls to disguise it. Crisis averted! Honestly, if I hadn’t told you, you probably wouldn’t even notice. It was, however, pretty stressful for a minute.
Here’s the card…
Making a mistake with the card did get me thinking. Aren’t we cardmakers good at problem-solving?! We learn how to cover mistakes with embellishments, sentiments, die cuts, ribbon, sequins, and sometimes even by “accidentally” splattering more ink somewhere else so it looks intentional!
I’m curious – when something goes wrong when you are creating your cards, do you try to hide the error and keep going, or do you start completely over?
Hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks so much for stopping by!
