Hi everyone! Earlier this week, Al and I celebrated eight years together. Of course, I had to make him a card. Some years I make something a little more traditional, but this year I wanted to create a card that was cute and fun. I thought the Lawn Fawn A Mole Lot stamp set would be the perfect choice because those little moles are just too adorable.
I started by stamping my design onto a scrap piece of paper to work out the layout. It felt a little plain, so I knew it needed something else. When I spotted the Heart Tree stamp set sitting unloved in my stash, I knew it would be the perfect addition. I stamped all the elements I wanted and then coloured them with my Copic Markers. Everything came together from there.
Next, I turned to the background. I used a few shades of blue to blend my sky before adding some clouds with the Stratus Cloud Background stencil. The ground was then ink blended using different shades of brown.
To finish the scene, I arranged all the elements and decided that the worms needed to be a cute couple too, so I added a tiny pink heart above them to tie in with the love theme. I love this little touch. I also stamped the “YOU + ME” sentiment into the carved heart on the tree. Isn’t that a super cute design feature? I love it!
Once I was happy with the placement of everything (yes, I remembered my own advice this time!), I adhered everything in place. The moles, one of the birds, and the heart above the moles were adhered with foam adhesive, while everything else was adhered directly to the background.

I think this is a super cute card. The only thing I forgot to do was add shadows under the elements. Oops! Good thing Al won’t notice! Haha.
