Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing a couple more friendship cards featuring the super cute mice from Lawn Fawn‘s Mice Flowers stamp set. If you thought these cards looked familiar, you’d be right. They are the same design as the card I shared last week (which you can see here), except with two changes. I used different patterned paper, although still from the same Bitsy Blooms paper pack, for the backgrounds, and I coloured the flowers with yellow Copic markers instead of pink.
You Don’t Have to Reinvent the Wheel
I think sometimes we can fall into the trap of believing every card needs to use brand-new products, or at least different products, because that’s what we often see online. I have certainly subscribed to this theory at times. These days, I use what I like. Sometimes, it is brand-new products, and other times, it is products I have had for years. Sometimes, I mix and match the two.
Changing just one or two things — the colours, patterned paper, or sentiment — can make a design feel fresh again. As I have always said, you are unlikely to send the same card to the same person, so does it really matter if you make more than one version of a card? Or a card that is very similar to a previous card? I don’t think so!
Honestly, this is something worth remembering the next time your mojo disappears, too. You don’t always need to start from scratch. Revisiting a design you already enjoyed can be exactly the thing that gets your creativity flowing again.
Here’s the first card…
Here’s the second card…
I had so much fun colouring these super cute mice and building the garden scenes. Lawn Fawn critters are always hard to resist. Which colour combination do you prefer?
Do you like recreating the same card design in different colour combinations, or do you prefer starting from scratch each time?
Hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks so much for stopping by!
