It’s Okay to Make the Same Card Twice (and Why You Should)

by Kylie

Hi everyone! I almost didn’t share today’s card. If you’ve been following me for a while, you might recognise this card because it is very similar to previous cards shared using the Hero Arts Don’t Stop Believing collection (see here). In fact, apart from a few colour changes and leaving off the white mat layer, it’s almost the same design.

For a moment I wondered whether I should post it at all.

Then I realised that’s exactly why I should.

Somewhere along the way, many of us started believing that every card we share—or even every card we make—has to be completely new. We buy a stamp set, make a couple of cards, and then it quietly gets filed away while we move on to the next release.

Why?

If you have a layout you love, use it again.

If you have a stamp set that still makes you smile, pull it out again.

If changing the colours, swapping a sentiment or simplifying a layer gives you another card you’re proud of, that’s more than enough.

That’s the kind of creativity I want to encourage here at Stampers Workshop.

I love new products just as much as anyone else, and I love sharing cards I make with them. There’s something exciting about opening a new stamp set or trying a new die for the first time. I also believe the supplies you already own deserve to be used over and over again.

Today’s card is proof of that.

The design is almost identical to the one I shared before, but those small changes give it its own personality. I swapped the colours, adhered the scene directly to the card base instead of adding a white border, and ended up with a card that still makes me smile.

It turns out today’s post really isn’t about the card, it is about feeling free to reuse our supplies again, and again! If this post inspires you to dust off an older stamp set, recreate one of your favourite layouts, or simply use your supplies one more time before buying something new, then I’ll consider it a success.

Here’s the card…

I loved making today’s card. I love how a few small changes to the design gives the card a different feel. I also hope Stampers Workshop will inspire to use your supplies, and that it is perfectly okay to make another card with the same supplies again, and again.

Hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks so much for stopping by!
