Hi everyone! I was recently asked to create some cards featuring Australian animals, so when Lawn Fawn re-released their Quokka My World stamp set, I couldn’t resist. I mean, just look at that happy little face! I really hope they turn this quokka design into a whole range, as they have done with the mice. This is the first card in what will become a little series using the quokka and the same basic card design. I wanted to begin with a card that could be used for almost any occasion, so I kept the sentiment simple with “Have a Happy Day.”
I started by choosing the stamps which would help create my scene, and the Kanga-rrific Add-on was the perfect choice. It has those awesome trees, grass, rocks and a few other Australian animals. They complement the scene without drawing the focus from the quokka.
Once again, I turned to the Postage Stackables dies to create the main focal panel. I love creating scenes like this. I paired it with the Postage Rectangles Stackables stencils so I could easily create my background without accidentally colouring the white border.
Next up, I stamped all of the images I thought I would like and coloured them with Copic Markers. After die-cutting them, I arranged them on the focal panel. I adhered most of the images directly to this panel and only popped up the quokka and the sentiment with foam adhesive so they would stand out.
I then popped up the entire front panel onto my card base, which was layered with a piece of patterned paper from the Favourite Flannel Fall Petite Paper Pack. After adding some shimmer to a few of the images, the card was finished.
Here’s the card…
I love the natural colours of this card. I think it is a sweet card which could be used for so many different occasions. I am looking forward to using this same basic design and stamp sets to create more cards with different themes, so follow along to see what comes next!
Hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks so much for stopping by!
