Hi everyone! Today I am sharing a super cute card featuring the Silly Goose stamps and dies from Concord & 9th. This set caught my eye straight away, and it’s perfect for cards for both males and females of all ages. For my first ‘play’ with the set, I kept things simple.
The Process
To begin, the focal goose was die-cut from Neenah Solar White 80lb cardstock. A light grey ink was added around the edges, and the feet and beak were coloured with the YR15 Copic Marker. I then decided I needed to know what the background would be, as this would impact the rest of my colour choices. I chose the Reasons to Smile 6×8 paper pack by Shimelle/American Crafts. To keep everything coordinated, another paper from the same pack was used for the party hat, pom pom and bow. The goose eye was die-cut from black cardstock, and the pretty pink cheek was made from white cardstock coloured with the RV000 Copic Marker.
The patterned paper was adhered to a card base. I then layered on white cardstock that had been die-cut with the Postage Stackables from Lawn Fawn. Why, yes, it is one of my favourite dies at the moment. Just before adhering the goose, the sentiment needed to be sorted. “Happy Birthday, You Silly Goose” was my choice, but I really only wanted the “Happy Birthday” section. I masked off the rest of the sentiment before inking and stamping in Onyx Black Versafine ink. One of the small hearts stamped at the end finished it off nicely. The goose was popped up with Altenew Foam Tape, and the card front looked complete, except it wasn’t. There was too much white space near the feet, so I picked a matching green ink and stamped the grass stamp twice. Thankfully, the postage panel hadn’t been popped up as well, which made this step much easier.
Here’s the card…
This card is prettier in real life. If I made it again, I would add a little more grey ink around the edges of the goose, and the grass would be stamped before adhering the goose die-cut! In fact, I think I am going to make a few more. Watch this space!
Hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks so much for stopping by!
