Our Love is Written in the Stars (Lawn Fawn)

by Kylie

Hi everyone, over this past weekend, Al and I celebrated the sixth anniversary of our first date. Early in our relationship, we were listening to the song “Written in the Sand” by Old Dominion. One of the lines in the song is “Are we written in the stars, baby, or are we written in the sand?” I asked him, “Do you think our love is written in the stars or the sand?” He replied, “Definitely the stars”. Aww! Using the Lawn Fawn set Upon a Star seemed the perfect choice to make a card for him as we celebrated this milestone.

I started by sponging shades of blue ink and a touch of rich purple ink onto a white cardstock base to create a sky. I ensured this inked background was completely dry and then wiped an Embossing Buddy over the surface before stamping the stars over the background in Versamark. This was then covered in White Embossing Powder and heat embossed.

Next, I sponged various shades of green ink onto a sheet of white cardstock. I then used the Grassy Border die and cut a panel of grass. Using the Blueprints 20 Die-namics die, I die-cut both the sky and the grass and then adhered them together. This panel was then adhered to a card base. The card base is a pumpkin colour and I did add a touch of brown ink over the top but it is really hard to see in the photo below.

I stamped the fox and rabbit from the Upon a Star stamp set and the hearts from the Christmas like No Otter stamp set (which is unfortunately no longer available) on another sheet of white cardstock. All were stamped in Black Memento. I coloured all the images with Copic Markers (colours listed below). After colouring the images, I die-cut them using their corresponding dies.

The images were popped up on the card front and then realised I had forgotten the sentiment. Can you tell it has been a while since I last created? Oops!

I used an embossing buddy on the grass and then stamped the sentiments, plus a few extra stars, in Versamark. This was then heat embossed with white embossing powder. I added a little Wink of Stella to the images and the card was finished!

Here’s the card…

I really enjoyed creating this card and I was even happier when Al thought it was great!

I cannot wait to make more cards using Lawn Fawn products – they are so cute!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great day!

Happy Stamping, Kylie
