Hi everyone, welcome to our Creative Prompt for March 2022. I’d love for you to join in and play along.
How to join in…
I’ve created a thread on my Stampers Workshop Facebook page (it is pinned to the top of the page so you can always find it). I’d like to invite anyone who wants to share their take on the challenge to do so in the comments section of that post. You don’t need your own blog, just upload a photograph of your card directly into the comments. Please upload photographs only. Do not link to other blogs or websites. Regrettably, these will be removed. My hope is these Creative Prompts will inspire and challenge us all to create. I also hope that by sharing we can comment, support and encourage each other. I do hope you’ll join me.
Here’s the Creative Prompt…
Have you ever played Tic Tac Toe? For this Creative Prompt, all you need to do is to create pick a line from the Tic Tac Toe board – whether you go across, down or diagonally – and use all three elements to create your project.
For my card, I chose to work along the top line which means I needed to include Designer Series Paper, a Circle and Twine/Ribbon when making my card.
I knew immediately I was going to use the beautiful Artfully Composed suite. I’ve had this for a while because it is gorgeous but I confess I was daunted by the busyness of the papers and size of the stamps and dies. I thought this challenge might be the perfect opportunity to finally use it!
I started by creating a card base from Evening Evergreen cardstock so that it tied in with the colour of the paper. I then added some of the pretty paper from the Artfully Composed Designer Series Paper pack. I die cut one piece with a die from the Tropical Layers die set to add a little more interest. It was then that I thought the dotted paper might be a little too white for the look I was going for so I very lightly sponged on some Pale Papaya ink with a Blending Brush. I then added some Linen Thread to the card. As this was a second thought I had to pry up the layer and stick it down with Glue Dots.
I stamped the sentiment from the Artfully Layered stamp set on Basic White cardstock and trimmed it to size. It seemed too stark against the rest of the card, so I again lightly sponged on Pale Papaya in with a Blending Brush. It tied it together perfectly. I die cut the circle element from the Picture This die set. After layering the sentiment on top, I thought it needed something else so layered these pieces on a length of Frayed Ribbon.
I die cut some leaves from the Tropical Layers die set from the Vellum Layering Designs pack and layered them behind the sentiment cluster. They added a little interest without competing with the background.
The final touch was to use a Dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend marker and colour a white gem from the Faux Sea Glass Shapes pack. I added a few to the card and then I was happy the card was complete.
Here’s the card…
If you are inspired by this Creative Prompt please pop on over to my Facebook page and share your card in the comment thread. I’ve pinned the prompt at the top of the page so it is easy to find. I respectfully ask that you only post a picture of your card and do not link to external sites. The reason for this is that I can’t monitor the links and ensure they are all suitable for all audiences.
I hope you will play along. I cannot wait to see what you all come up with!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a great day!
