Happily Ever After: The Mice-est Wedding Card (Happy Couples / All the Speech Bubbles)

by Kylie

Hi everyone! Today, we have the absolute joy of attending the wedding of two incredibly dear friends here in gorgeous Western Australia. These two were the very first people we met when we moved to the area, and after thirty-five years together, they’re finally tying the knot. How special is that? We’re beyond excited to celebrate this milestone with them! Of course, such a momentous occasion called for a handmade card, and I couldn’t wait to dive in—even if I felt a little out of practice.

For this card, I turned to two fabulous Lawn Fawn sets: Happy Couples and All the Speech Bubbles. The adorable critters and sweet wedding accents in the Happy Couples set felt like the perfect fit. The hardest part? Choosing which critter couple to use! After much deliberation, I landed on the mice—because honestly, how could I resist their cuteness?

I started by colouring all the stamped pieces I thought I’d use with my trusty Copic Markers. Next came the second hardest decision—how to set the scene. I went with a frame from Stampin’ Up!’s Scalloped Contours Dies as my foreground panel. For the card base, I added texture with their Stitched Greenery Background Die.

The scene was coming together, but it needed a little more colour. My first attempt—a classic blue sky and green grass combo—just didn’t click with the colours I’d chosen. So, I went back to the drawing board and reached for Twisted Citron Distress Ink for the ground and some yellow and pink Hero Arts Shadow Inks for the sky. I absolutely love the look!

After adding a touch of shimmer (because every wedding card needs sparkle!), I realised I’d forgotten something crucial—the sentiment! Thankfully, I could easily remove the pop dots from behind the panel to get a flat surface. I stamped “Congrats” from the Happy Couples stamp set. Now it felt truly complete.

Here’s the card…

I really hope they love it—it was such a joy to create! This project also sparked some inspiration to get back in the craft room again (hello, Christmas cards!). What have you been creating lately? Let me know—I’d love to hear about your projects!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great day!

Happy Stamping, Kylie
