Hi everyone, today I am sharing the third card in my “similar, but different” series featuring the gorgeous Perfectly Pencilled Designer Series Paper. You can see the first two cards here and here.
For this card, I started by colouring in the flowers on one of the sheets of paper with the Bubble Bath, Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends. After fussy-cutting the flower I put it aside to use later.
The card base was created with Basic Black cardstock which I embossed with one of the Basics 3D Embossing Folder. I love this set of embossing folders. Like the previous card, I decided the card was looking very black but instead of softening it with vellum, I decided to embrace it. I realised that I did need to break it up though. To do this, I die-cut a frame using the Stitched Rectangle dies. I adhered this directly to the card base with the Fine-Tip Glue.
The sentiment, from the Beautifully Happy stamp set, was stamped with Versamark and then white heat-embossed it. As this set doesn’t have a coordinating die set, I simply fussy-cut around the sentiment.
I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop up the flower design on the card front. And yes, I added some shimmer with the Close to My Heart Clear Shimmer Brush. The sentiment was adhered directly to the flower. I decided to add a bow using the Black & White 1/4″ Gingham Ribbon. This is such a good way to link the black of the cardstock with the white parts of the floral element.
I decided to leave the card alone at this point but you could always add some bling if you want.

I actually really love this card. In fact, I think it might be my favourite. This series has been so fun for me. I’ve had so much fun trying the different ideas as they pop into my head. Do you do this? I still have many flowers coloured and fussy-cut so there may be a few more heading to the blog soon. I hope I’ve inspired you to do something similar, as well as reach back into your retired products/stash and just play!
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great day!
