Stampers Anonymous Blog Hop #47: Colour Challenge

Stampers Anonymous Team Blog Hop

Hi, welcome to the Stampers Anonymous Blog Hop day! Thanks so much for hopping with us this month. The theme for our October 2022 Blog Hop is a Colour Challenge. For this challenge, we needed to make a project using Sweet Sorbet, Old Olive and Blushing Bride. We are also permitted to use Basic Black, Basic White and/or Very Vanilla.

Here’s the Challenge…

When I saw the colours of this challenge I knew immediately the Simply Fabulous stamp set was the perfect choice for me to use…plus I hadn’t used it in forever so it was time to get it out again.

I started by creating a card base from the Sweet Sorbet cardstock. Next, I cut a panel of Basic White cardstock to size. I stamped the leaves in Old Olive ink. Some I stamped directly to the cardstock and others I stamped off first so that it was lighter to give more interest. Next, I stamped all the flowers in Sweet Sorbet ink directly onto the card panel. I stamped a few more onto a scrap of Basic White cardstock and then fussy cut them out. I did the same with a couple of leaves too. I’ve never been a huge fan of the Blushing Bride ink at full strength so I stamped it off first before adding the small flowers to the card design. They are subtle but I do think they complete the design.

The sentiment, also from the Simply Fabulous stamp set, was stamped in Sweet Sorbet on Basic White cardstock. I did add some Clear embossing powder to the top but I’d probably skip this step next time as my ink wasn’t as juicy as I thought it was. You could overstamp with Versamark if you wanted instead and then emboss if you want the glossy look. I used the Stitched Rectangles dies to die-cut the sentiment.

After I had all the components ready, I started to assemble the card. I thought it needed something more so I trimmed a little from the top and bottom of the stamped panel and then added a strip of Old Olive cardstock.

Once everything was assembled, I added some Wink of Stella to the flowers and scattered a few of the Iridescent Pearls (which I cannot stop using – but don’t stop me! haha). It was at this point I thought the card needed something else so I covered the sentiment with a Post-It note and then used the Dark Sweet Sorbet Stampin’ Blend marker to spatter some ink over the design. I think this finished it off perfectly.
