Hi everyone, one of my LEAST favourite cards to make is Sympathy cards. I usually recommend people make them BEFORE you need them because if you are anything like me, it is so difficult to do it when you need them. Sadly one of my sweet friends lost her husband this week. I didn’t have any sympathy cards in my stash so needed to make one. I’m always torn between creating a card which is respectful and loving but not too sad, or dark, and on the flip side, not too bright and cheery.
I ended up making two cards based on the same design as I felt my first effort, while nice (you can see it below), just didn’t feel like it had that thread of hope if that makes sense. Like the sun will come out one day and you can look back at the times you spent together with love and happiness and not sadness.
I used the Sorry for Everything stamp set for the sentiment and the Forever Blossoms stamp set for the flowers.
Here’s the first Card…
Here’s the second Card…
In the end, I decided to send my friend the So Saffron card as it was a little cheerier.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a great day!
