Merry Christmas (Brightly Gleaming)

by Kylie

Hi everyone, are you all busy making your Christmas cards?  Do you leave them until the last minute or do you try and knock them off earlier than the week before?  I usually end up making mine at the last minute but for some reason, I am super organised this year.  I also make the Christmas cards for my work and I finished them last night. YAY!  As I’ve shared the card design I made for my family and friends, I thought I’d also share the cards created for my work.

I’ve used products from the absolutely GORGEOUS Brightly Gleaming suite.  The patterned paper has lovely copper foiling on it which unfortunately doesn’t photograph well but looks amazing in real life.    I used the lovely Word Wishes dies to create the sentiment.  I also punched out a strip of Copper Foil Sheet, using the Classic Label Punch, and adhered it behind the sentiment panel to break up the design a little.

Here’s the first Card…

Here’s the second Card…

I had a little trouble when designing this card.  I wanted to use too many elements and it became very busy.  Fortunately, I have two very creative friends, Melissa and Jo-Ann, who offered some advice which I pass on to you – keep it simple!  Sometimes busy cards look amazing and just work.  Other times…well, you just have to keep it simple!

Which card do you prefer?  I really love the baubles background.  I think the other design would be perfect for masculine cards too, not just Christmas cards.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Hope you have a great day!

Happy Stamping, Kylie
