Hi everyone, today I am sharing a beautiful card featuring the beautiful Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper. This paper pack has some gorgeous prints and my favourite is the one I am using for today’s card. One of the things I like most about it, aside from the print itself, is that it can be used as-is, or coloured in. It can also be the main feature on a card or simply part of the background. So versatile!
I started by trimming the Abigail Rose Designer Series Paper into pieces the size of a card front. Next, I coloured one piece with Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends. This combination of colours is gorgeous and ties in with the paper perfectly. Of course, you all know I then added some Wink of Stella to the petals. I then decided to layer the other side of the paper design underneath and thought I’d angle both sheets a little. In order to do this, I had to trim both pieces smaller.
Next, I chose to layer the pieces on a card base formed from Crumb Cake cardstock. I thought the cardstock looked a little plain so I sponged some Crumb Cake ink along the edges with a Blending Brush. If you like this look, you could also do the same to the inside of the card to tie it together.
The sentiment, from the Cottage Rose stamp set, was stamped in Crumb Cake ink on Basic White cardstock. I simply trimmed it into a strip. I wanted to highlight the sentiment a little so it didn’t get lost in the patterned paper. The Natural Finish Ribbon was the perfect choice however as it is quite wide (7/8″ / 2.2cm) it made the sentiment look a little weird. I simply folded the ribbon on itself and glued it in place. The sentiment was added to the top with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I thought it needed a little something extra so added a Linen Thread bow. The final touch was to add some of the Petal Pink gems from the Elegant Faceted Gems pack.
