Hi everyone, welcome to our Creative Prompt for June 2022. I’d love for you to join in and play along.
How to join in…
I’ve created a thread on my Stampers Workshop Facebook page (it is pinned to the top of the page so you can always find it). I’d like to invite anyone who wants to share their take on the challenge to do so in the comments section of that post. You don’t need your own blog, just upload a photograph of your card directly into the comments. Please upload photographs only. Do not link to other blogs or websites. Regrettably, these will be removed. Watermarked photographs are permitted. My hope is that these Creative Prompts will inspire and challenge us all to create. I also hope that by sharing we can comment, support and encourage each other. I do hope you’ll join me.
Here’s the Creative Prompt…
Even though I am the person who designs the Creative Prompts each month sometimes I feel very challenged by them. Even a relatively simple design like this can be difficult. I played around with a few ideas before settling on the one I am sharing today. So if you ever feel like this, you aren’t alone!
I started by chosing some patterened paper I wanted to work with. The Butterfly Kisses Designer Series Paper is so bright and cheerful and has elements which can be cut (or die cut) from some of the designs. Once I had the paper chosen, I matched the cardstock I was going to use.
To create the card I used a Starry Sky card base and added a strip of paper from the Butterfly Kisses Designer Series Paper pack. Next I die cut a Stitched Rectangle from Basic White cardstock. This was to be my main focal panel and I adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. (TIP: you could step up this section by inking some sky or clouds).
I picked out some butterflies from the Butterfly Kisses Designer Series Paper which I thought might look good on the centre and fussy cut them out with Paper Snips. If you have the coordinating die set (Build A Butterfly dies) you could probably use these instead. I adhered them to the main panel with Seal before adding a coat of Wink of Stella to give the images a little more interest.
The sentiment, from the Good Feelings stamp set, was stamped in Versamark on Fresh Freesia cardstock before white heat-embossing and trimming to size. I adhered this directly to the main panel. To finish the card I adhered some Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
Here’s the card…
If you are inspired by this Creative Prompt please pop over to my Facebook page and share your card in the comment thread. I’ve pinned the prompt at the top of the page so it is easy to find. I respectfully ask that you only post a picture of your card and do not link to external sites. The reason for this is that I can’t monitor the links and ensure they are all suitable for all audiences. Watermarked photos are, of course, permitted.
I hope you will play along. I cannot wait to see what you all come up with!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a great day!
