Home Sweet Home: Creating a Heartfelt Housewarming Card (Lawn Fawn / Happy Village)

by Kylie

Hi everyone! Moving into a new home is always a big deal. There’s nothing quite like receiving a thoughtful card to make the space feel even more special. A handmade housewarming card, in particular, adds a personal touch. It’s a wonderful way to share your excitement and support for someone embarking on this new chapter of their life.

I just finished creating a cute housewarming card for a friend and couldn’t wait to share it with you!

Building the Card Foundations

I created a card base using Neenah Solar White 110lb cardstock. For the background, I layered a piece of patterned paper from the now-retired Crate Paper pad, Hello, Love. It’s such a gorgeous collection, and I still have most of it left—time to start using up those old supplies!

Next, I die-cut a panel of white cardstock using the Stitched Rectangle Dies (Stampin’ Up!®). I sponged on Mowed Lawn and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to create a simple background. I love how a little ink blending can completely transform a plain piece of cardstock! Once that was done, I layered this panel onto a coordinating piece of Hello, Love paper to tie everything together.

Creating an Adorable Scene

To create the focal point of my card, I reached for the super cute Happy Village stamp set from Lawn Fawn. I have to say, I absolutely LOVE this set! The little houses and trees are just perfect for a housewarming theme.

I stamped a selection of images onto white cardstock and coloured them in with Copic Markers. Now, here’s where I had a little moment—I really wish I had ordered the coordinating dies! Fussy cutting these tiny elements was a bit fiddly, but I pushed through (and will probably do it again, even though those dies are calling my name!).

Once all the pieces were ready, I arranged them into a cute little scene. Some images were adhered directly to the front panel, while others were popped up using Stampin’ Dimensionals to create depth and interest.

The Finishing Touches

Of course, no card is complete without a little shimmer which I added with the Wink of Stella Shimmer Brush. And just like that—voilà! The card was complete.

Here’s the card…

This card was so much fun to create—fussy cutting and all! And just as well, because I’ve just heard another friend is moving. Time to whip up another housewarming card!

Have you ever made a housewarming card? What are your go-to designs or favourite stamp sets for the occasion? Let me know in the comments—I’d love to hear your creative ideas!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great day!

Happy Stamping, Kylie
