Hi, the Penguin Place bundle is so versatile. You can use it over and over to create cards for so many different occasions – love, Christmas, friendship and more. Today we are making a birthday card.
To start, take a sheet of Basic White Thick cardstock and create your card base. Attach some paper from the Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper (this is a paper pack that could be yours for FREE with a qualifying order during Sale-A-Bration). I then attached another strip of patterned paper to the left-hand edge of the card front but added a small mat of Misty Moonlight cardstock.
Next, take a piece of Basic White cardstock and die cut two panels with a large die from the Hippo & Friends die set. Die-cut two so that you can tear off the bottom of one piece to add a little more interest to the card front (after you have sponged the background and stamped and embossed the snowflakes). You could even pop up this piece if you wanted.
I stamped the penguin from the Penguin Place stamp set as well as the rest of the parts of the penguin, the present and balloons. I then punched out the penguin and fussy cut all the other pieces, including some trees from the coordinating Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper. I also stamped and white heat embossed the sentiment on a small piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock.
For something a little different, I split some of the strands of the white Baker’s Twine apart and tied it to the end of the balloons. I thought it would be a cute touch.
After all of this was done, I adhered all the parts together and popped it up on the card front. The final touch was to add a coating of Wink of Stella.
Here’s the card…
