Hi everyone, I love using patterned paper to make cards and I particularly like using paper where I can colour it so the Perfectly Pencilled Designer Series Paper went straight on to my wish list. Today’s card is actually quite simple and I think you could easily set yourself up with your preferred colouring mediums and colour a full sheet of patterned paper and then quickly make up a few cards.
I started by colouring the Perfectly Pencilled Designer Series Paper with Sweet Sorbet, Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. I trimmed my sheet to slightly smaller than a card front. I then mounted this a little askew on a card base of Granny Apple Green cardstock.
Next, I selected the ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set and stamped it in Sweet Sorbet on Basic White cardstock. I used the Stylish Shapes dies to die cut the sentiment. I thought I needed a little more Granny Apple Green so I also die cut a scalloped circle from the Layering Circles die set. I layered the two pieces together and popped them up on the card front.
I thought the card needed something else so I coloured one of the butterflies from the same piece of paper and fussy cut it out. The colours I chose were Daffodil Delight and Pool Party Stampin’ Blends. I added this to the sentiment circle. The final touches included adding Wink of Stella to all the flowers and the butterfly, as well as some Rhinestones near the sentiment.
Here’s the card…
While I coloured the entire panel of the gorgeous Perfectly Pencilled Designer Series Paper for this card you could also just spotlight one section. You could change up the colours too or even just leave it as a black and white design.
