Happy Birthday (Cottage Rose Bundle)

by Kylie

Hi everyone, today I am sharing a card featuring the Cottage Rose bundle. I had found myself using only part of the bundle and challenged myself to use more. This turned out to be a pretty card but it was a little fiddly.

I started by creating a card base from Thick Basic White cardstock. I then die-cut a panel of Basic White cardstock with the Stitched Greenery die. Next, I die cut the largest of the dies from Soft Sea Foam cardstock. I left all the pieces in the cardstock panel and, with a Blending Brush, added some Soft Sea Foam ink to the edges of the leaves. To keep everything in place, I added some large, full sheet, Post It notes to the front and flipped the panel over. I added some Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the back of the leaves before flipping it back over and adhereing it to the piece I had die cut with the Stitched Greenery die. I pressed everything firmly in place before removing the leftover pieces. I kept the large die-cut piece intact so I could use it to help position the flowers.

Moving on to the flowers, I had thought of die cutting the entire panel but worked out I needed to stamp extra flowers. So, I stamped up all the flowers in Petal Pink ink on Petal Pink cardstock. I then die-cut the pieces using the same die from the Cottage Flowers die set. I used the die-cut template to help position the flowers. The flowers were popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

It was at this point I realised I wanted my focal panel to be smaller so I trimmed it down and layered it on a piece of Petal Pink cardstock. I then adhered this to my card base.

For the sentiment, I used the ‘Happy Birthday’ greeting from the Cottage Rose stamp set. I stamped it with Versamark on Gray Granite cardstock and then white heat-embossed it. The sentiment was cut to size and then popped up on the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The card was finished with some Elegant Faceted Gems in Petal Pink and a white bow from Baker’s Twine.

Here’s the card…

Although it was a little fiddly keeping all the small pieces in place, the card was actually quite easy to make. It would be fun to see it in different colours too. What colours would you choose?

All of the supplies used to create today’s card can be found in my online store.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great day!
