Hi everyone, welcome to our Creative Prompt for August 2022. I’d love for you to join in and play along.
How to join in…
I’ve created a thread on my Stampers Workshop Facebook page (it is pinned to the top of the page so you can always find it). I’d like to invite anyone who wants to share their take on the challenge to do so in the comments section of that post. You don’t need your own blog, just upload a photograph of your card directly into the comments. Please upload photographs only. Do not link to other blogs or websites. Regrettably, these will be removed. Watermarked photographs are permitted. My hope is that these Creative Prompts will inspire and challenge us all to create. I also hope that by sharing we can comment, support and encourage each other. I do hope you’ll join me.
Here’s the Creative Prompt…
I love this sketch! It is one I have visiting many times over the years. Whilst you can use the panels in many different ways, I tend to use them to highlight “busy” patterned paper. That’s how I have used it today. I started by creating a card base in Calypso Coral Cardstock. Next, I layered on some pretty patterned paper from the Butterfly Kisses Designer Series Paper pack which I had trimmed just a little smaller than the card front. From this same paper pack, I cut out three rectangle pieces using the Stitched Rectangle dies. I also fussy cut out one of the butterflies.
After die-cutting my rectangular pieces I layered them on Calypso Coral cardstock. I positioned them on the card base but they sort of blended into the background. To help them pop a little more, I created another mat from Parakeet Party cardstock. I adhered them directly to the card base but you could pop them up with Stampin’ Dimensionals if you wanted to.
The sentiment, from the Charming Sentiments stamp set, was stamped in Versamark on Calypso Coral cardstock. I then die cut it with the coordinating Sentiment Silhouettes die set (the stamps and dies are also available as a bundle for a 10% discount).
After adding some white Baker’s Twine to around the three rectangular shapes then layered on the butterflies and sentiments using Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop them up. I then added some Wink of Stella to the butterfly and scattered around some of the Calypso Coral Fine Sparkle Adhesive-Backed Gems.
Here’s the card…
This is such a fun card design and it can be used in so many ways. I love using it to highlight ‘busy’ patterned paper but you can use it in any way you like.
If you are inspired by this Creative Prompt please pop over to my Facebook page and share your card in the comment thread. I’ve pinned the prompt at the top of the page so it is easy to find. I respectfully ask that you only post a picture of your card and do not link to external sites. The reason for this is that I can’t monitor the links and ensure they are all suitable for all audiences. Watermarked photos are, of course, permitted.
I hope you will play along. I cannot wait to see what you all come up with!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a great day!
