Hi everyone, welcome to our Creative Prompt for April 2022. I’d love for you to join in and play along.
How to join in…
I’ve created a thread on my Stampers Workshop Facebook page (it is pinned to the top of the page so you can always find it). I’d like to invite anyone who wants to share their take on the challenge to do so in the comments section of that post. You don’t need your own blog, just upload a photograph of your card directly into the comments. Please upload photographs only. Do not link to other blogs or websites. Regrettably, these will be removed. My hope is that these Creative Prompts will inspire and challenge us all to create. I also hope that by sharing we can comment, support and encourage each other. I do hope you’ll join me.
Here’s the Creative Prompt…
Some days when I design the Creative Prompts I have in my head what I might like to create. Other days, I have no idea. This sketch was one of the “no idea” days. Initially, I thought about designing the card so that the circle contained the stamp image in its entirety and I even started roughing out a concept. I just wasn’t feeling it so put that project aside for another day and headed back to look at my stamp sets. As soon as I saw the Daffodil Daydream bundle I felt like it would be a perfect choice. The daffodils could hang over the edge of the circle and I loved that idea.
I started by stamping the daffodils from the Daffodil Daydream stamp set and coloured them with Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. I then die cut them using the Daffodils dies. I also die cut the largest circle from the Layering Circles die set.
After layering the daffodils on the circle, I thought the white looked a little stark so very softly sponged on some Balmy Blue ink. It’s a very soft look but it just adds a bit more colour.
For the card base, I used some Thick Basic White cardstock and layered on some Pale Papaya Designer Series Paper. I added a strip of Pumpkin Pie Designer Series Paper across the middle. To create the second stripe of the sketch, I used Linen Thread. I tied it around a few times and then added a bow.
The circle die cut was popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the daffodils and the sentiment strip were added directly to this shape. I finished off the card with some pearls. You could also add some Wink of Stella to the flowers. That would look really pretty.
Here’s the card…
If you are inspired by this Creative Prompt please pop on over to my Facebook page and share your card in the comment thread. I’ve pinned the prompt at the top of the page so it is easy to find. I respectfully ask that you only post a picture of your card and do not link to external sites. The reason for this is that I can’t monitor the links and ensure they are all suitable for all audiences.
I hope you will play along. I cannot wait to see what you all come up with!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a great day!
