A Pawsome Father’s Day Card (Crazy Dogs / Crazy Things / Happy Howloween)

by Kylie

Hi everyone, Father’s Day is a special time to show appreciation to the Dads and father figures in our lives, and this year, I wanted to create something special for Al from our beloved pup, Lexi. It is another excuse, not that we need it, to spoil Al and show him how much we love him.

Getting Creative with Crazy Dogs

The Crazy Dogs stamp set is an absolute favourite of mine. The quirky dog designs always make me smile and were the perfect choice for this card. I selected a stamp that reminded me of Lexi, capturing her playful and loving personality. It was fun to colour the image in her likeness using Copic Markers. I also had to stamp the ball image as Lexi likes to play with her toys ALL day.

Adding a Touch of Howloween

I didn’t have a coordinating sentiment stamp set to go with the Crazy Dogs stamp set. That wasn’t a problem as I had lots of options to choose from in my stash. I used the “Happy”, “Father’s” and “Day” stamps from the Happy Howloween stamp set. These words were stamped on Black cardstock with Versamark and then white heat-embossed.

Choosing the Perfect Background Paper

The paper I used for the background of the card is from the Paige Evans paper pack, Blooming Wild. This paper pack has a gorgeous array of options. I chose a paper with a subtle design that wouldn’t overpower the stamped images. It provided a perfect background, allowing the stamps to pop.

Bringing It All Together

With the stamps chosen and the paper selected, I got to work assembling the card. I started by stamping the images from Crazy Dogs, and the hearts from the Crazy Things stamp set then coloured them in with Copic Markers. This panel was trimmed and added to a card front which had been covered in patterned paper from the Blooming Wild paper pack. The sentiment, from the Happy Howloween stamp set, was stamped on black cardstock and white heat embossed. This was trimmed and then popped up on the front of the card. The final touch was, of course, adding a little Wink of Stella. So fun!

Here’s the card…

This card was a joy to make! I had such fun colouring the dog image to resemble Lexi. As Al has been at work, we will give it to him tonight. Now, please keep everything crossed that his present arrives today too! It is supposed to but….who knows?! Edit: It was just delivered – yay!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a great day!

Happy Stamping, Kylie
