Hi everyone, today I am sharing a card using the fun Tropical Chic stamp set. I had an idea for stamping on Crumb Cake cardstock and thought this stamp set would be perfect. I used the Stamparatus to stamp the various images in Whisper White ink. After cleaning the stamps (having left them in place on the Stamparatus plate), I then inked them up in either Granny Apple Green, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive, Basic Gray or Flirty Flamingo and re-stamped the image. At first, I was careful to ensure the images stamped over the white perfectly but later, I moved the cardstock a little so that I offset the stamping. Next time I create a card like this, I will ensure more of the Whisper White ink is showing. I added a little bit of extra colour to the flower with the Pumpkin Pie watercolour pencil but in hindsight, it would have looked better to apply the colour directly to the stamp with a sponge dauber. Finally, I decided the keep the card very simple and finished it off with only a sentiment panel.
Here’s the card…
It’s actually much prettier in real life but it is also quite subtle. If you like this technique but you would like it to make more of an impact, try using bolder colours, for example, Melon Mambo and Shaded Spruce.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a great day!
