Hi everyone, the Playful Penguins penguins were such fun to create with the other day that I had to keep playing with them. You can see my earlier card here. I loved how cute the two penguins looked together so I created a new environment for them. This time I’m creating a Christmas card and instead of creating my own background, I’ve used the GORGEOUS paper from the Let it Snow Specialty Designer Series Paper pack. The colour combinations in this pack really wows!
I started out by stamping the penguins on some Whisper White cardstock and then shaded them with Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends. After cutting them out with my Paper Snips, I then used the Dark Basic Black Stampin’ Blend around the edges so you couldn’t see any of the white cardstock.
Before adding the penguins to the Let It Snow patterned paper I cut a strip of vellum which I then embossed with the Merriest Wishes sentiment. Make sure you use your embossing buddy on the vellum before doing your embossing as vellum can be quite staticky.
To finish off the card I die cut some snowflakes using dies from the Frosted Frames die set. I adhered them using the Fine-Tip Glue which is awesome for attaching such intricate designs.
The final touch to this card was the addition of some Snowfall Accents Puff Paint to the ground beneath the feet of the penguins. Just a tip, let the puff paint dry and you will end up with super awesome puffiness. As well as being a cool look, it also anchors the penguins to the ground so it doesn’t look like they are floating.
Here’s the Card…
