Hi everyone, today I wanted to share a card featuring items from the Storybook Gnomes suite. It was so fun to make, especially if you like fussy cutting!
I started by creating a card base from Pool Party cardstock. Next, I added a panel of patterned paper from the Storybook Gnomes Designer Series Paper pack. I then took a piece of Basic White cardstock the size of a card front and tore off the bottom. Using a Blending Brush I added a very soft layer of Balmy Blue ink before adding the torn-off cardstock back to the bottom. I added some Wink of Stella to this piece to make it a bit more like snowy ground. This panel was then adhered to the card front.
Next, I fussy cut all the animals I wanted from a piece of paper from the Storybook Gnomes Designer Series Paper pack. I added some directly to the card and others I popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I covered all the creatures with a coating of Wink of Stella.
For the sentiment, I stamped “Warm Wishes” from the Kindest Gromes stamp set in Versamark on Pool Party cardstock. After white heat-embossing it, I trimmed it to size. I was about to adhere it to the card but I thought it needed something more. I ended up using a heart die from the Sentiment Silhouettes die and die cutting it from the toadstool paper, also from the Storybook Gnomes Designer Series Paper, as I wanted to ensure it matched with the colours already used. I also added a small bow of white Baker’s Twine before finishing off the design with a few of the Fine Sparkle Adhesive-Backed Gems.

I’ve really been enjoying using patterned paper to make cards. It’s fun to be able to use it as both a background on a card as well as some of the main focal elements.
