Stamp Trio Challenge: Hello Baby (3)

by Catherine Carroll

Hi Everyone,

Today brings me to the end of my first Elle’s Stamp Trio challenge. It has been such a fun challenge as I tried to make three completely different cards with the stamp set Hello Baby from Lawn Fawn. I have made a vintage card, a cute Keep in Touch card and today I have gone for something completely different.

It crossed my mind that Lawn Fawn stamps are, in general, cute and so I tend to make cute cards with their products. Now, I LOVE cute but I thought about challenging myself to make something that wasn’t “cute”. A challenge within the challenge. lol And, I am really thrilled with how this card has come out. (Well, truthfully, there are little bits I want to change but I’m sticking with my plan to complete a card and then start changing up bits and pieces).

Here’s the card…

Hello Materials used: Stamps- Critters on the Savanna, Hello Baby, Hello Sunshine (Lawn Fawn); Lawn Cuts - Spring Showers (Lawn Fawn); Distress Ink; Inktense Pencils (Derwent); and Wink of Stella.

Hello
Materials used: Stamps- Critters on the Savanna, Hello Baby, Hello Sunshine (Lawn Fawn); Lawn Cuts – Spring Showers (Lawn Fawn); Distress Ink; Inktense Pencils (Derwent); and Wink of Stella.

It looks a lot better in person – the water came up so well. Can you tell I used the tree from the Critters on the Savanna set for the rocks? I think the tree top looks great as rocks (and I’ve used them that way a few times now). lol

Thank you, Elle, for such a great challenge. I look forward to playing along again soon.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you have a great day!

Happy Stamping!

Applauding #3 in the trio, Kylie! Your challenge to go “non cutesy” with full-on cutesy stamps is a resounding success! Your scene (Queen of the Scene = YOU!), is lovely – and using the tree top as rocks is nothing short of inventive and ingenious! Seriously, you NEED to be on some design teams, for your ability to see the immense potential in so many products! Totally amazing! Hmmm…time for marketing (I’m relentless, aren’t I): AAA Cards: watercolour technique; Less is More: Earth Tones (although I’m not sure water fits, but hey….worth checking out!). Looking forward to your next round of “trio”!! You “rock” *grin*
Mega hugs ~c

It’s really hard to say which one of the three is my favorite now, but this particular card is amazing! I never would have expected it from the cute baby set, and I just love the rocks. No way that was from Critters on the Savannah! Absolutely brilliant. 😀

I have to say, the Stamp trio challenge was a resounding success for you. The cards are all different, but equally charming and impressive. I’m so glad that you took part in it!

I’m with C, in that you would rock as a DT member. 😀

It was so fun, Elle! Thank you for dreaming up such a great challenge. 🙂 I hope more people play along because I think it such a great idea. I am looking forward to using some of the sets I feel that I have limited ideas with and see if I can really stretch myself. I know I didn’t really stick to the masculine, feminine, other – maybe next challenge? 🙂 Thank you again soooo much for your lovely compliments. I appreciate it more than I can say.

Sooooo…..before I comment on your AMAZING card, have tried out for the PS DT yet???!!! You really, really, really, really, really, really, really need to – you’re *that* good my friend. I don’t say things I don’t mean, either. Done nagging now….lol! You could have knocked me over with a feather when you said the rocks were from tree tops…now that’s what I call brilliant. Seeing everything in a different light. Super stunning card. Looks like a beautiful watercolored landscape painting. Awesome, kiddo! Love it! (sorry so late with commenting…ykws about killed me this week!) : )
