Stampin’ Creative Global Blog Hop – January 2022 – Love Is In The Air

by Kylie

Hello and welcome to the Stampin’ Creative Global Blog Hop! Currently, you’re visiting the blog of Kylie at Stampers Workshop! Thanks so much for hopping with us this month. To see the rest of the blogs in the hop, there’s a list below.

The theme for our January 2022 Blog Hop is Love Is In The Air.

For this theme, I decided I wanted to make something a little playful and fun. The Nuts & Bolts stamp set seemed like the perfect choice. They are such cute stamps and can be used for many different occasions including birthdays, friendships, anniversaries, Valentine’s Day and “just because”.

I picked out the robot with the heart because I thought I could reverse stamp the image and make it look like the two robots were looking at each other. The easiest way to stamp an image in reverse is to stamp onto a Silicone Craft Sheet and then press your cardstock onto the ink. You want to press firmly but not too hard as this might distort the craft sheet and your image. I also stamped the images a second time on the Polished Pink Shimmer Vellum as I wanted to cut the hearts out and add it to the robots. The vellum was also used to create the large and smaller hearts (using dies from the Floral Heart die set).

I coloured the robots using Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends and I added eyelashes to one of them using a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker. The goal was to differentiate the robots in a small way.

For the card base and the sentiments, I used Basic Black cardstock. Layered on the card base was a gorgeous gray paper from the Simply Elegant Specialty Designer Series Paper pack die cut with a Stitched Rectangle die. While I had the die set out I also cut a panel of Basic White cardstock which I then embossed with the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder. Before I added it to the card base I thought I needed something else so I added a strip of paper from the Pattern Party Host Designer Series Paper Pack.

Here’s the card…

I had such fun colouring in the robots and creating this card! It was a fun theme. If you were thinking it was a bit too pink for your recipient, you could always use other colours. I think it would look great with blues, greens or even rainbow colours.

Let’s continue on the hop…

Thank you so much for visiting my blog. To continue on the hop here is a list of all the participants.
