Hi, this past Saturday I attended my very first OnStage Local in Melbourne. It was such a fun and happy event. I was supposed to stay with friends in the city for the weekend but unfortunately, illness kept me from doing so but I couldn’t miss out on OnStage. I’ve been hanging out to share with you all that we did, saw and received but we’ve been under a Spoiler Alert Policy until today so we didn’t ruin any of the fun and excitement for Demonstrators in other markets (this is a global event). This is a SUPER LONG post but it has so much good stuff in it and I hope you enjoy reading about my first OnStage experience.
I arrived at the Melbourne Park just before 7 am and waited with a growing crowd of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. Eventually, we started to swap some of the cards we had brought with us. I have received beautiful swap cards and I will do a Facebook live soon to share them all with you. People are very creative!
Just before check-in time- 7.30am, I met up with my friends Melissa and Jo-Ann and we walked into OnStage together. The entry foyer had many display boards of the new products as well as a place for you to display your own swap cards.
We checked in and received a welcome envelope and tote bag. LOVE the tote bag! Will return to that shortly. In our welcome envelope was a letter which listed whether we would be receiving any sort of recognition. (Mine was a “stand and wave” section for Title Advancement, in the afternoon session). Our name bag was also included as well as a coupon for our lunch (which we pre-selected at time of booking). Once we had all of this, we moved into the main presentation room. Melissa‘s sweet friend, Charmaine, had saved us a table – right in the front and centre of the stage!
At the table, I started to go through the tote bag we had been given at check-in. We received a lanyard for our name badge, a brand new not yet released stamp set (the Picture Perfect Birthday set from the upcoming Occasions catalogue), a numbered badge, a notebook, some pens and a mug. How lucky we were and the day had just started!
Here’s the stamp set which came in the tote. You’ll love the suite which coordinates with it.
My sweet friend, and team leader, Melissa, also gave me a wonderful, and thoughtful present! Isn’t she the best? (And let me just tell you the copper embossing powder, thread and metallic sequins are divine! Can’t wait to use them!). Jo-Ann, a fellow demonstrator and someone I am blessed to call a new friend, also gave me a sweet gift!
The day was hosted by the incredible Bonnie Farley from the Stampin’ Up! Home office. This lovely lady knows how to host a party. She’s eloquent and quick-witted and a general delight. Bonnie kept the day flowing from recorded content from the USA OnStage Live event, to local presentations and recognition segments. She also kicked off the day by giving us the brand new Occasions and Sale-A-Brations catalogues! Now, I am unable to share any details about these catalogues for now…but as soon as I can I will. You are going to LOVE the new things coming our way. (And if you were thinking that you might like to be part of the fun, Sale-A-Bration is definitely an awesome time to join).
Here’s all that I can show you for now…
Stampin’ Up! announced that while official 30th birthday anniversary is in October 2018, they were going to start the celebration early…by kicking it off at OnStage! We all received a beautiful 30th Anniversary badge as well as a bag.
Now, do you remember me telling you about the badge with the number on it? Turns out these are for Prize Patrol! At different stages throughout the day, Stampin’ Up! gives attending Demonstrators a brand new stamp set from the new catalogue. The numbers indicate which set you will get. I received the new “Amazing You” clear-mount stamp set from the upcoming Sale-A-Bration promotion. It, as you might imagine, generates a LOT of excitement!
During the afternoon, we participated in four make and takes using new products. It was so fun! What made it even better was that the ladies at my table were brilliant and caring. We worked well as a team and it was great!

Wow! So much fun! And the day wasn’t over! Bonnie asked us whether we would like another stamp set and of course, who doesn’t want another stamp set?! This time it was the super cute Bird Banter set (also from the upcoming Occasions catalogue). It was a set I had my eye on right from the start so as you can imagine, I was super thrilled.
Unfortunately, not too much later our day came to an end…but the surprises weren’t quite over! Stampin’ Up! allowed us to go through the make and take kits and pull out items to keep (with the exception of the bone folder and the tub, of course). We passed the tub around, picking out an item each time until it was empty. How generous!
Here’s what I came away with…
It really was a great day! I swapped all my cards, met some lovely people, hung out with super sweet friends Melissa and Jo-Ann (and all of the other ladies at our table), received lots of goodies and the new Stampin’ Up! Catalogues and made some fun projects. We were inspired by display boards (post coming soon) filled with wonderful content and we were allowed to place an order for some of the new items before any other Demonstrator. What a day! A definite perk of being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator. I really feel blessed to be one tiny part of this wonderful Stampin’ Up! community.
Phew! What a long post! If you stayed with me right to the end – thank you very much!
Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!
Happy Stamping!
