Hi everyone, welcome to our Creative Prompt for October 2022. I’d love for you to join in and play along.
How to join in…
I’ve created a thread on my Stampers Workshop Facebook page (it is pinned to the top of the page so you can always find it). I’d like to invite anyone who wants to share their take on the challenge to do so in the comments section of that post. You don’t need your own blog, just upload a photograph of your card directly into the comments. Please upload photographs only. Do not link to other blogs or websites. Regrettably, these will be removed. Watermarked photographs are permitted. My hope is that these Creative Prompts will inspire and challenge us all to create. I also hope that by sharing we can comment, support and encourage each other. I do hope you’ll join me.
Here’s the Creative Prompt…
To create my card I knew I wanted to use the Amazing Year stamp set and in particular, the flower bouquet. I thought it would look so sweet so I started by masking off the tag which is part of the stamp and stamping it in Memento ink on Basic White cardstock. I then coloured it with Granny Apple Green, So Saffron and Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends. Next I fussy cut the image out and applied some Wink of Stella to the flowers.
I used the circle die from the All That die set to cut, from Basic White cardstock, the circle element from the sketch. I inked up the sentiment, from the Amazing Year stamp set, with Versamark and stamped it on So Saffron cardstock. After white heat-embossing the image, I trimmed it to size. It was at this stage that I got a little stuck. I hadn’t given too much thought to how I might create the background. Oops! In the end, I decided to go with a piece of patterned paper from the Splendid Day Designer Series Paper pack as the main panel, and a plaid design in So Saffron from the Subtles 6×6 Designer Series Paper pack. I die-cut both with the Stitched Rectangles dies.
The card looked a little plain so I ran the So Saffron card base through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Stitched Greenery die to give it a little more interest. All that was left at this stage was to assemble the card and add a few finishing touches such as the white twine bow and the Iridescent Pearl gems.
Here’s the card…
This is a sweet card and a fun sketch!
If you are inspired by this Creative Prompt please pop over to my Facebook page and share your card in the comment thread. I’ve pinned the prompt at the top of the page so it is easy to find. I respectfully ask that you only post a picture of your card and do not link to external sites. The reason for this is that I can’t monitor the links and ensure they are all suitable for all audiences. Watermarked photos are, of course, permitted.
I hope you will play along. I cannot wait to see what you all come up with!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a great day!
