Hi everyone, have you seen the new Peony Garden suite? It’s GORGEOUS! I love the whole suite and it was one of the first items I purchased from the new catalogue. I’ve been equally enamoured with the samples for this suite as I have been with the products themselves.
The first card I am sharing is a faithful replication of one of the cards on page 82 of the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue. I loved everything about this card from the colour combination to the added stamped texture on the background, and the overall design. It’s so pretty!
Here’s the first card…
Isn’t it lovely? I thought I’d recreate the card again but this time add a bit more “Kylie” into the design. You all know (if you’ve been reading my blog for any length of time) that I love texture on the base cardstock. I decided to use the Dainty Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder to add this texture. I still wanted the white stamped look so grabbed a soft cloth and dabbed it in the Whisper White Craft Ink. Gently, I dabbed and swiped the ink over the embossed cardstock. It looks so good!
The final step was to add a little more oomph to the peony. I still used the Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends for the leaves and stem but for the flower itself, I used Petal Pink, Flirty Flamingo and just a touch of Light Poppy Parade too. I love how it turned out.
Here’s the second card…
So which one do you prefer? Truthfully, I think I kind of prefer my version (mainly because of the texture and the colours of the peony)…BUT I would never have designed a card like this so I am so incredibly pleased to have been introduced to it through the new catalogue. If you give it a go and add your own style to the design, please let me know. I’d love to see your version!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a great day!

Both cards are pretty, but I like the one with more color. Nice job. Enjoy your day!
Thanks, Hilda! (I agree! It packs a little more punch!). Have a great day too! 🙂
Two great cards Kylie but I pick yours as my favourite because of the colouring.
Thanks so much, Kylie! I really appreciate your kind words! 🙂
