Hi everyone, we are gradually inching closer to Christmas. Part of me is unwilling to recognise this fact, but the other part knows that it is time to start thinking about it, especially when considering posting cards to family and friends overseas. I think the cut-off for some locations is as early as mid-November.
Today’s card features the beautiful Santa Express Designer Series Paper. In fact, all the images on this card have been fussy cut from this paper. While there is a coordinating stamp and die set (Santa’s Delivery Bundle), I actually teamed it up with the Christmas Scottie stamp set instead as, for my design, I preferred the font of the ‘Merry Christmas’ in this set.
I started by forming a card base from Poppy Parade cardstock and then layered on the Fa-La-La sheet from the Santa Express Designer Series Paper pack. I then fussy cut out all the images I wanted from this same paper pack. As always, I recommend you cut out a few more pieces than you think you will need. It gives you the opportunity to play around with the design.
Next, I cut a panel of Basic White cardstock to form my focal piece. I very lightly sponged on some Balmy Blue ink before adding on some torn strips of Basic White cardstock. The sentiment, from the Christmas Scottie stamp set, was stamped in Poppy Parade ink and cut to size. When this was done, I adhered the focal panel directly to the card front and then adhered all the other images in place.
I added some finishing touches with pearls and Wink of Stella and the card was complete.
Here’s the card…
This was actually really fun to create and did make me feel a little more in the Christmas spirit – just a little! Which camp are you in? Too early to think about Christmas or let’s get started with Christmas?
