Hi, over the past couple of weeks we’ve made different projects with the Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper. Every time I fussy cut the super cute critters from this paper, I usually cut out more than I think I will need. This means I do all my cutting in one sitting and when it comes to assembling the card I have a few different options available. It also means that I end up with a collection of extra pieces which I can then use for another project. That’s how today’s card came about – I had a pile of critters and decided they had to be used to create a card.
This card is super simple to create. Start by fussy cutting some of the critters from the Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper. Next, die cut a snow bank using Basic White cardstock and the Basic Border Dies. Attach this piece to the Green Tree patterned paper also from the Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper pack. Add a Stitched Rectangle die to the top and run this through your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. You’ve now got a perfect setting for your critters. Play around with the layout and when you are happy with it, adhere the critters in place.
Choose your sentiment and white heat emboss it on Calypso Coral cardstock. The sentiment I chose was from the Penguin Place stamp set. I used the Messages die to cut the sentiment strip.
To create the card base, I chose a sheet of Pear Pizzazz cardstock. I then embossed it with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. Next up, I cut a panel of Balmy Blue cardstock and stamped it with snowflakes (also from the Penguin Place stamp set) using Versamark ink. All that was left was to assemble the card. I did add a little bit of Wink of Stella to the hats, scarves, mittens, as well as the little blue bird.
Here’s the card…
Using patterned paper can be a quick and easy way to create cards. Okay, fussy cutting may be involved but once that is done the card comes together quite easily.
Don’t forget the Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper could be yours for FREE with a qualifying order during Sale-A-Bration. It’s such a cool paper pack and I’ve had a blast creating with it! I love both the little critters and the more subtle background paper. Such a versatile paper pack.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a great day!
