Hi, it is such an exciting time in the Stampin’ Up! year. I have now seen the new catalogue and let me tell you, you are going to LOVE it! There are some amazing stamp sets and papers coming. I will share more as soon as I can! If you saw my Facebook Live last week you will have had a few sneak peeks at what is coming, including the new style inkpads and the new In Colours!
It’s been a while since I have shared any ideas with you all and I thank you for your patience. My little distraction, Jake, is nearly 12 weeks old and he’s been home for just over two weeks. He is a bundle of energy and cuteness. I am completely smitten with him. He’s learning so quickly but we still have a long way to go with his training.
Here’s my Jake…
I may be biased (okay, I am totally biased) but I think he is adorable! While he was amusing himself with a ball today I took the opportunity to craft. It has been a while! The first thing on my agenda was to finish the card I was making when Jake arrived. I had completed the background and it has been sitting on my desk untouched for all this time.
Here’s the card…
For the above card, I stamped and embossed the floral image from the gorgeous Petal Palette stamp set. I then used my Aqua Painter and some Pool Party ink to add a little extra interest to the background. I’ve done this technique many times in the past as it is one of my favourite techniques. I love this look!
Next step was to stamp, colour and die cut the bird. After cutting out the bird, I immediately thought of a birdcage which then made me decide to use silver foil sheets for the rest of the decorative elements and silver embossing powder for the sentiment. I thought it would add a bit of a wow factor to the card.
I used the Pool Party Stampin’ Blends marker to colour the Whisper White Organza Ribbon as I wanted it to match the card perfectly. All that was left was to put it all together.
I think this is a really pretty card and one which you could easily replicate with other colour combinations. I hope you’ll give it a go!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a great day!
