Hi everyone, welcome to our Creative Prompt for January 2022. I’d love for you to join in and play along with me.
How to join in…
I’ve created a thread on my Stampers Workshop Facebook page (it is pinned to the top of the page so you can always find it). I’d like to invite anyone who wants to share their take on the challenge to do so in the comments section of that post. You don’t need your own blog, just upload a photograph of your card directly into the comments. Please upload photographs only. Do not link to other blogs or websites. Regrettably, these will be removed. My hope is these Creative Prompts will inspire and challenge us all to create. I also hope that by sharing we can comment, support and encourage each other. I do hope you’ll join me.
Here’s the Creative Prompt…
When I designed this sketch, I thought it would be able to smash out a card quickly. The reality was when I sat down to create, I couldn’t get anything to work at first. In the end, I’ve made a slight change as I only have one sentiment strip, not two. That’s okay, though, as my thoughts behind creating these Creative Prompts each month is to spark creativity.
To create my card I’m using the new In the Moment stamp set. It will be available from 4 January 2022. Not long to wait now! The image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and then coloured with Stampin’ Blends. I added a little Crystal Shimmery Effects to the wine and some Wink of Stella to the hat and the dress. The panel was cut to size and matted on Flirty Flamingo cardstock.
I went through a lot of patterned paper testing how they looked before deciding to keep the focus on my stamped panel. I took another panel of Basic White cardstock and embossed it with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. This was then matted on a piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock and finally, this was attached to a Thick Basic White cardstock base.
For the sentiment, I stamped the image, also from the In the Moment stamp set, in Versamark before white heat-embossing. I trimmed it out with Paper Snips.
The last step was to pull the design together and finish it off with a few of the silver dots from the Silver & Clear Epoxy Essentials pack.
Here’s the card…
If you are inspired by this Creative Prompt please pop on over to my Facebook page and share your card in the comment thread. I’ve pinned the prompt at the top of the page so it is easy to find. I respectfully ask that you only post a picture of your card and do not link to external sites.
I can’t wait to see what you all come up with! It’s such a fun sketch!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a great day!
