Hi everyone, recently when in hotel quarantine I found myself with only a few craft supplies. Yes, I miss my craft room a LOT). It forced me to go back to basics. I didn’t have any of the usual supplies. No dies, twine, ribbons, punches, or Stampin’ Blends. I had an assortment of cardstock, five stamp sets, my Stampin’ Write Markers, Water Painters, Memento Tuxedo Black, Classic Assortment Stampin’ Spots, a Paper Trimmer and some Adhesive. Okay, now that does still sound like a lot. When you are used to having a room full of supplies, it feels like not very much.
The reason I chose to bring the Stampin’ Write Markers is because they are so versatile! You can colour directly onto your stamp with the marker- and that is how I created both the sentiment and the background of the card.
You can also scribble the marker onto an acrylic block and use the Water Painter to pick up the colour – and you can watercolour. This is how I coloured most of the turtle image from the Back On Your Feet stamp set.
The third way is that can, of course, colour directly on the cardstock, which is how I added the Pool Party around the outline of the stamped image. The Stampin’ Write Markers are sold by Colour Families, by In Colour groups, or as a set of 41 markers (all the colour families plus a Black Marker). You can see the options here.
Here’s the card…
I had so much fun colouring that cute little turtle stuck on his back (poor thing!). It was, however, a challenge to me to finish the card without using dies, punches, or ribbon and twine, but we got there in the end. I challenge those of you who, like me, have all the things, to create a card using just paper, a stamp and your Stampin’ Write Markers.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a great day!
