Hi everyone, with Mother’s Day just around the corner (8 May), I thought I would share a really pretty card that would be perfect for the occasion. It features the new Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper which will be available from 3 May 2022 but is available to new and current Demonstrators now. I *love* this paper! It’s gorgeous. I teamed it with the “Happy Mother’s Day” sentiment from the Daffodil Daydream stamp set.
The card is actually really easy to make. I fussy cut, and die-cut, some of the flowers from the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper pack. I cut quite a few as I wasn’t sure how I was going to assemble the card and I feel it is better to have too many pieces cut than not enough.
The card base was created from Flirty Flamingo cardstock. I inked up the inside of the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder with some Whisper White Pigment Ink. I then ran this through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. It creates such a fun look!
In order to add a little more interest when layering my pieces, I chose a doily from the Heart & Home Doilies pack. They come in Basic Gray, Misty Moonlight and Cinnamon Cider but if you turn them over they are white on the other side. I popped this on the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Next, I layered my flower pieces.
The sentiment was from the Daffodil Daydream stamp set and was inked in Granny Apple Green ink. I stamped this on Basic White and then fussy cut it out with my Paper Snips. I adhered this to the doily with Seal.
The final touch was to add some Wink of Stella to the flowers, and a few Rhinestones as well.
Here’s the card…
Doesn’t the brick wall embossing look great? I love this technique. It just adds that little extra interest – and it is so easy to do too.
