Hi everyone, it has to be said that bright colours really POP against a black background. So how do you achieve this when stamping images? One way is to stamp the images and then either die cut or fussy cut them out and adhere them to black cardstock. Another way and this is the method I used below, is to stamp the images on white cardstock and then colour in the background with your Black Stampin’ Blends Marker. Easy!
For my card, I stamped the smaller floral image from the So Much Love stamp set on a panel of Whisper White cardstock. Next, I coloured the images with Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green and Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends markers. Finally, I took the Black Stampin’ Blends Marker and coloured the rest of the white space. Doesn’t it make the colours POP off the page?
I added this stamped and coloured panel to a small mat of Whisper White cardstock. This panel was popped up on a Basic Black cardstock base which had been embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder (which is still my favourite folder).
The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set and was simply white heat embossed on black cardstock.
Here’s the card…
I love how bright and happy this card is! Of course, you don’t have to use black for the background. Depending on the colours you are using, a grey might look really good too! Have fun experimenting with colour!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a great day!
