Hi everyone, yesterday my Brother-In-Law celebrated his 50th birthday (Happy Birthday, Ben) and so I had to make a card to celebrate. Like many people, I struggle with making masculine cards so I was unsure at first in which direction to go. I decided to use blue and silver as my main colour theme. I die cut the numerals ‘5’ and ‘0’ and a ‘Happy birthday‘ from silver sheets but the look just didn’t appeal. In the end, I grabbed an older, but still current, stamp Bubble Over and die set, Bottles and Bubbles, and decided to go with a more casual look.
Here’s the Card…
You might realise that the bottles haven’t stamped absolutely perfectly. I was okay with that. To my eye, it gave the bottles the appearance of dimension as if the light was bouncing off the bottle.
I used the new, and totally awesome, Well Written stamp set and coordinating die set (also available as a bundle for a discounted price) for the sentiment. I have to say I LOVE the dies in particular. They are so fantastic!
The one thing I used which might surprise you is the paper from the Twinkle Twinkle DSP. Whilst it is a baby themed paper, the navy is great for any kind of masculine card.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a great day!
