Hi everyone, do you ever have an idea for a card but as soon as you sit down to create you just cannot get what is in your head to reappear on paper? That was me with this card. I knew I wanted to use the cute Fable Friends stamp set. I also knew I wanted to use the Balmy Blue paper from the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper. I thought the rabbit looked like Peter Rabbit and that was how I wanted to colour him. I also wanted to keep the card relatively simple. It all sounds like it is going to come together quite easily, doesn’t it? Sadly, no. I’m sharing what I ended up with….not because I love it but because I don’t love it. I have always said I wanted this blog to share the good and the not so good. Today’s card is the not so good part.
Here’s the card…
So where did I go wrong with this card? Well, truthfully, in quite a few ways. I think the colour scheme is more fitting for a new baby card and I could have used the sweet “Darling Baby” sentiment. And while I was trying to go for simple I ended up with a very blocky design. I should have broken up the gingham paper a little more perhaps with a solid piece of cardstock or even some ribbon. Still…sometimes things go a little haywire and as long as we learn from it, then that’s the main thing.
Don’t you think the rabbit is SO cute!! I love it! You should see some of the other cute critters in this stamp set!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a great day!
