Create two quick and easy birthday cards with the Hues of Happiness Suite (CASE the Catalogue)

by Kylie

Hi everyone, today I am sharing two quick and easy cards which have been CASEd (Copy And Share Everything) from the 2022-2023 Annual Catalogue. The samples, on page 1 of the catalogue, were the first I saw and I knew immediately that I would be getting the Hues of Happiness Suite and making those cards. They are so pretty.

I made two cards in different colours – one in Fresh Freesia and Gorgeous Grape, the other in Melon Mambo – but the process was the same. I started by creating a card base. Next, I added a panel of patterned paper from the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper pack. I also cut a strip of the more solid patterned paper to coordinate and punched it with the Banners Pick A Punch.

On Basic White cardstock, I stamped the smaller flower images from the Happiness Abounds stamp set and then die cut them using the Blossoming Happiness dies. The sentiment, also from the Happiness Abounds stamp set, was stamped in the same colour as the flower elements. I trimmed the sentiment to size. In hindsight, I think I would have cut it to be wider than you can see below. It would have been nice to have it so that it was just a little smaller than the Frayed Ribbon upon which I adhered it, but I think it still works.

Now that I had all the elements, all I had to do was assemble the card. I did add a little Wink of Stella to the stamped flowers and then finished off the card with some Glossy Dots.

Here’s the first card…

Here’s the second card…

They are such pretty cards! You could use different patterned papers from the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper, or different colours of cardstock and ink. Of course, you could always switch up the sentiment too. So many possibilities!

Which colour combination is your favourite?

Both cards are beautiful and easy to get out the door, if necessary. If I had to choose one, it would be the Melon Mambo card. Thanks, Kylie, for this inspiration. Enjoy your day!
