Hi everyone, in my last post I shared a quick, easy but still beautiful card featuring the New Horizons Designer Series Paper. Today’s card is not quick, but it is still easy and beautiful! We are focussing on the Seascape Bundle. This fabulous bundle is on sale until the end of the month (March 2022).
I started by die cutting all the pieces from the Mother of Pearl Specialty Paper. For the second seahorse, I turned the paper over so I could make it so the seahorses were looking at each other. Once the pieces were die cut, it was time to get a little messy. I grabbed my re-inkers, some cotton balls and some Isopropyl Alcohol and started colouring the die cuts. I added the Isopropyl Alcohol to the cotton balls then dropped on a few drops of the re-inker. I then pounced it over the paper. I wish you could see the lovely shimmer and shine on each of the die-cut pieces. So pretty! I put these pieces aside to dry and went on with making the rest of the card.
I created my card base from Coastal Cabana cardstock. I also cut another piece that was slightly smaller to be my canvas. I stamped some seaweed in Coastal Cabana ink. Then I stamped the other coral image in Versamark before white heat-embossing. To create the sea bed, I tore a strip of Crumb Cake cardstock. I used the texture stamp from the Seascape stamp set to add a little more interest to this strip. I inked it up with Crumb Cake ink but stamped it off so that it wasn’t so dark. When sticking this piece down I didn’t add adhesive all the way to the top so that I could put some of my other elements behind it.
The sentiment was stamped in Versamark and then white heat-embossed on Polished Pink cardstock. I then die cut it using the Stitched So Sweetly dies.
When my inked die cut pieces were dry, I adhered them to the panel. I popped up the seahorses with Stampin’ Dimensionals as I wanted the eye to be drawn to them. The final touches was to add stamp some air bubbles and add a few clear circles from the Silver & Clear Epoxy Essentials pack.
Here’s the card…
I really like the bright feel of this card. If I was to change anything, I would have made the pale seahorse a little brighter in colour so that it stood out more but overall, I’m happy with it.
I hope you enjoyed my card. If you would like to make your own version, all the supplies you need can be found in my online store here.
