Hi everyone, Happy Valentine’s Day! If you need a last-minute card, I have a super cute card which might be the perfect option. Funnily enough, as I was creating it I realized that it was starting to look super familiar to me! Turns out I was CASEing the super talented Emma Goddard and, at first, I didn’t even realise it. She shared this during our previous Stampin’ Creative Global Blog Hop, You can see her FABULOUS card here!
I started by stamping the cute robot from the Nuts & Bolts stamp set with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Basic White cardstock. The robot was coloured with Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends and Real Red Stampin’ Blends. I added some Wink of Stella to the design, fussy cut it out and put it aside.
Next, I stamped the sentiment and hearts, also from the Nuts & Bolts stamp set, in Versamark and then black heat embossed them. In hindsight, I should have done this for the robot as well. I think it would have looked great! The hearts were coloured with the Real Red Stampin’ Blends.
The card base was made from Thick Basic White cardstock. I wanted the patterned paper, from the cute Sweet Talk Designer Series Paper pack, to stand up a little off the card base, but I didn’t want to use Stampin’ Dimensionals. Instead, I matted the patterned paper on Basic White cardstock. This made it so there is a little depth but not too much. I then die cut a circle from this paper using a Layering Circles die. Before adhering this panel to my card front, I tied a ribbon from the Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack.
I then started to position everything in place. I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the Robot and the sentiment (which I cut into pieces). I added a few hearts to the design. The final touch was to add Shimmery Crystal Effects to all of the hearts. Make sure you leave this to dry thoroughly before handling the card. You can easily leave fingerprints, or nail marks, or even make the surface look less shiny.
Here’s the card…
This is actually a really simple card! I love the design too. It could be used for so many different themes. I also love the Nuts & Bolts stamp set. It’s so cute!
