Hi everyone, today’s card is a little controversial. Not because it has a weird theme or questionable message, but because I showed a couple of people before I decided to post it. The response varied from, “I love it” to “if you like it that is all that matters.” I think this is because it is quite different from my usual cards in that it is very dark.
The idea behind this card is that the little monsters were popping out from the darkness to say BOO. I had thoughts of making a door and when you slid it open then you could see the monsters. In the end, I went for more of a window look. It’s a bit hard to see but the black background has actually been embossed with the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder.
I actually die cut out a panel of Whisper White using the Stitched Rectangles die and then stamped all three critters (Zombie, Monster and Werewolf) from the Boo To You stamp set. I wanted to angle the stamps so that it looked like they were popping out from the sides. I usually start with stamping and then do the die-cutting so it is a little backwards from my usual process.

The card did take a little bit of time to colour but if you are anything like me, I love colouring so it wasn’t a problem. How do you feel about this card? Is it too dark for you? Would you make a card which is so dark?
