Hi Everyone,
The Balloon Adventures bundle in the Occasions catalogue is another of the new items which jumped out at me immediately for its versatility and creativity. I thought it would be so fun to use it, not only to make a pop card like it was designed to do, but also it would be so effective as a shaker card. The colour palette may look familiar to you. It is the colour palette used for the Tasty Treats Specialty Designer Series Paper. It was still on my craft table from my previous cards and I thought it would be a great colour combination for the card I had in mind.
This stamp and die bundle also coordinates with the Balloon Bouquet Punch. Unfortunately I do not have this punch yet so I had to be a little more creative in order to achieve the look I was going for. The coordinating die set does have balloon shaped dies but they are patterned and I wanted to stick with a stamped look. It was easily fixed though – I just ran the main die again through the Big Shot but this time I used Whisper White cardstock instead of Watermelon Wonder. I then stamped the designs I wanted and carefully cut out the shape. It isn’t as perfect as it would have been using the punch but I am okay with that.
To create the shaker box, I used the brand new Foam Adhesive Strips. Love these. They are long and narrow which really made it simple to create the box. I also added very small pieces of the Foam Adhesive Strips under the two outside balloons and a little under the sentiment too. I thought this might stop all of the lovely Sprinkles Embellishments from going to the bottom when the card was standing upright – and it did.
Here’s the card…
