Hi everyone! I really felt like creating a floral card, as I haven’t made one in such a long time. Before joining Stampin’ Up!®, I very rarely made any type of floral card. As part of Stampin’ Up!®, I made LOTS and LOTS! After I left Stampin’ Up!®, I went completely the other direction and didn’t touch any flower stamps. It was strange because I actually really enjoyed making cards with flowers. Recently, I was “window shopping” online and came across the Build-A-Garden: Happy Blossoms set from Altenew, and my “window shopping” immediately turned into actual shopping, and I don’t regret it at all. This is such a fun set, and I have used it multiple times already, so get ready to see heaps of cards using this set over the coming weeks and months. I have to say, don’t you think that it is the sign of a good set when you just cannot put it down!
Keeping It Simple
I decided to keep this card super simple. I chose a patterned paper for my background (Reasons to Smile by Shimelle from American Crafts), and made sure I could find ink that coordinated perfectly with it. Fortunately, I had some inks from Altenew which worked very well. I picked two shades of purple for the petals, two shades of green for the leaves and some Sunflower ink from Lawn Fawn for the flower centres. The coordinating stencils made the process of colouring the stamped image oh so simple. I then die-cut the stamped and coloured image, as well asa postage die cut (Lawn Fawn) and layered everything together. So easy!
Of course, you know I finished off the card by adding some shimmer with Wink of Stella. So pretty!
Here’s the card…
This card suits my style perfectly, and I loved making it! I cannot wait to make some more too!
Hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks so much for stopping by!
