Hi, welcome to the Stampers Anonymous Blog Hop day! Thanks so much for hopping with us this month. The theme for our August 2022 Blog Hop is a Colour Challenge. For this challenge, we needed to make a project using Real Red, Tahitian Tide and Crushed Curry. We are also permitted to use Basic Black, Basic White and/or Very Vanilla.
Here’s the Challenge…
Colour challenges are always a little challenging for me but I love them. Without them, I find myself turning to the same colours over and over again. Colour challenges not only get me to use different colours but they also encourage me to use different combinations too. The first thing I do with Colour Challenges is to grab the ink pads and stamp out the colours so I can see how they look and how they work together. Then I realised they would look so cool if I used them for the Scrappy Strip technique. This is an excellent way to use up any scraps you might have. If you don’t have any scraps, then all you need to do is cut some up but cut them on different angles so as to create interest.
Next lay the strips on a piece of Basic White cardstock. Leave a little gap between each one. Once everything is adhered, trim the panel to the size you want. I then layered this piece to a slightly larger piece of Basic White cardstock. In turn, this panel was adhered directly to a Real Red card base.
For the sentiment, I used the Amazing Thanks die set. I added Adhesive Sheets to the back of some Basic White and Real Red cardstock. I then cut the ‘shadow’ three times from the Basic White and the line die from the Real Red. The pieces were all layered together and placed on the card. I finished the card with a couple of Fine Sparkle Adhesive-Backed Gems.
Here’s the card…
Let’s continue on the hop…
